Let me start out by saying:
CONGRATULATIONS Sean and Tim!
So one whole gay couple was able to get married in Iowa before they [tag]reinstated the gay marriage ban[/tag]? One?? Seriously? What kind of dumb ass court system is this? It frustrates me to no end that they are still fighting about gay and lesbian peoples [tag]right to marry[/tag] and still denying them this basic basic right as human beings.
So here is how this latest [tag]gay marriage[/tag] ban fiasco went down for those of you who are not too angry to read:
Thursday rolls around and miracle of miracles Judge Robert Hanson says gay people can apply for a marriage license in Polk Country. He saw the light and acknowledged that it was unconstitutional to not allow anyone who is in love to marry regardless of their sexual orientation.
Of course as soon as this decision was made the ever annoying County attorney John Sarcone said he would do his best to get it stopped—which the little weasel managed to do. Well, sort of, he got the judge to stay his ruling which amounts to the same thing in my books.
The lucky couple that managed to get in just under the reinstated gay marriage ban wire was Sean Fritz and Tim McQuillan and when I say lucky I mean lucky! Most couples have to wait a few days for the license to clear but there is a handy dandy little loophole that they squeezed through just in time to pull of a coup that I am sure has Sarcone’s panties in a bunch.
For God’s sake they are in love! If two people are in love let them get married! What the hell is the big deal anyways, what is the difference if they are lovers or married people, you would think at least if they are married it is not “living in sin” as the holier than thou’s say.
I guess when it comes down to it, one [tag]gay married[/tag] couple is better than none. It is just a shame that the world is still stuck in the dark ages and that the American court system has its head so far up it’s ass that peoples human rights are being stripped left right and center.
