There are many reasons to wear garnet jewelry. First of all it’s the birthstone of January, which makes it the perfect gift for any man or woman born in that month and of course there is the fact that it is significantly cheaper than other birthstones like diamonds and rubies. In daylight Alexandrite has a muddy green or grayish blue tone but take a peek at them in candlelight or incandescent light they have a smoky blue. That and their rarity is why it’s the most expensive garnet on the market today.
With all the shades and colors I can safely say there is a garnet out there for everyone, it’s not just for girls either. You can find tons of beautiful designs of mens jewelry as well that make great use of January’s birthstone.
