This reminds me of something my brother told me last week, he is a lot younger than me (14 years) and is still in high school, grade 12 actually. But anyway, his teacher was talking about something or other and I’m not sure what she meant to say but the word fag came out and he said the whole room gasped. She wasn’t referring about anything gay, he thought it was pretty funny as she got all upset and flustered for saying it. Poor lady. Unless of course she is a homophobe.
I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt though since yesterday I wanted my kid to pass me the clicker and instead of saying pass me the remote I said “pass me the pen, wait no, pass me the paper, wait no, the remote.” What the hell is that?? The mind is a crazy thing, well, mine at least lol.
One more quick thing before I show you the article. Head over to my Gay Pride Facebook Fan Page and join. I need more people since half my stupid friends are scared of seeming gay or something. Whatev.

GENEVA, Ill. — A teacher at Geneva High School has been disciplined for using anti-gay slurs during a class discussion on taxation and the National Endowment for the Arts. Consumer education teacher David Burk was reprimanded by the school district for asking students, “How would you feel about your tax dollars going to pay some black fag in New York to take pictures of other black fags?”
Jordan Hunter, a 17-year-old senior who was in the class, reached out to the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation about the situation. He told GLAAD this was not the first time Burk had used the slur and requested help in bringing the story to the public. Hunter’s efforts resulted in The Chicago Tribune publishing two major pieces on the matter.
Geneva School District 304 responded by placing a letter of reprimand in Burk’s permanent file and the school board issued a written warning calling his behavior “unacceptable.” Burk issued an apology for his “innappropriate” remarks.

such things should be really prohibited, if teacher will commit such things then i m sure students will not learn good manners for which they come to school

A warning for uacceptable behaviour? That’s just not enough. An apology is ok, but when you have views like that, you shouldn’t be teaching our children in the first place.

Can you imagine how many other students she may have harmed but were too scared or embarrassed to get help? Terrible.

What was that teacher thinking?! There is no need or place for that language in a public learning facility. Too bad for that teacher if that is how they feel but they need to leave that at home.
