Given the price of gold at the moment the diamonds may actually be cheaper. One thing I did not read on any of these posts about jewelry was the idea of loose colored diamonds and custom made jewelry. It is also possible to find many jewelers who can mount loose diamonds in custom jewelry as well. When you get into fully custom jewelry, the possibilities are literally endless.
