Tim Ravndall Thinks Tortured Gays is Just Hilarious

Matthew Shepard murder victim

I read a lot of disgusting things in the news and in my research for work, but it never ceases to amaze me the kind of horror that can be conveyed in so few words. Take the recent comments, seemingly flippant ones at that (to him that is), made by President of the Montana Big Sky Tea Party, Tim Ravndall. His words sent a chill down my spine because I know they are his truth. This is how he really feels and it is terrifying that anyone can honestly be so inhuman and soulless.

So, here is what was said on Facebook between him and some other guy (whose name I refuse to print because he is probably getting a kick out of the attention):

Random Bigot: “I think fruits are decorative. Hang up where they can be seen and appreciated. Call Wyoming for display instructions.”

Tim Ravndal: ” @ [Random Bigot], Where can I get that Wyoming printed instruction manual?”

Random Bigot: “Should be able to get info Gazette archives. Maybe even an illustration. Go back a bit over ten years.”

They are clearly, very clearly, referring to the brutal, vicious murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming in 1998.

I know there are people out there who hate the LGBT community, I know this just as I know there are many would would do physical harm to people just for being themselves, but still it shocks me that they would put it in writing. I don’t know why that is, it’s just how I feel.

But to make jokes about a tragedy like the murder of Matthew Shepard is so far over the line, even for homophobes, that there are no words to describe just how sick it makes me feel. Now Tim Ravndal wants us to accept his apology?

Get fucking real buddy. Where is the manual for cleaning up the shit like you (and the rest of the tea party movement) that is polluting the politics of the United States of America, the country that is supposed to be leading the world in freedom?
