Vicious Attacks on 40th Anniversary of Stonewall Riots

stonewall gay bar raid

Last weekend in Fort Worth, Texas, police conducted a raid on a gay bar. Apparently this was done to “celebrate” the horror that was perpetrated on the gay community during the Stonewall Riot. This new crop of gay busting cops utilized excessive force to both harass and arrest patrons, and this was on the 40th anniversary of Stonewall. WTF??

All of this happened in the newly opened Rainbow Lounge. The cops came in and caused havoc while performing a “routine ordinance check” yeah right. They were aggressive, unnecessarily so, and they even went so far as to arrest seven people for public intoxication. Keep in mind this is in a bar!

They were so violent in their assaults that one man was sent to the hospital with a brain bleed! He could die! And for what, so some assholes can say they rounded up a few gays and beat some sense into them? Get real!

Ooooh shock, the policemen involved in the incident are saying they were not acting irresponsibly, they are trying to sell the “fact” that they were sexually harassed by the bar patrons.

The LGBTQ community definitely NOT on board with these bogus claims and are standing up for the victims of the Rainbow Lounge raid and the fact that it happened on the anniversary of the Stonewall bar raid is not being overlooked.

On Sunday protestors demonstrated in downtown Fort Worth and Fort Worth and even councilman Joel Burns has spoken out and called for accountability on behalf of the police department.

Mayor Mike Moncrief of Fort Worth, Texas has just apologized today for “what happened in Fort Worth.” The topic was brought up during a City Council meeting on Tuesday. He said the following, “If you want an apology from the mayor of Fort Worth: I am sorry about what happened in Fort Worth,”

The investigation into the raid is ongoing and so far no charges against the officers have been laid. Mayor Moncrief has asked the U.S. Attorney’s Office to review the department’s findings.

We will see how things unfold.
